Why is it that people on ebay will pay less for a hospital doll than a used one or even a new one? I mean significantly less. I could see paying a little less if the doll didn't have any clothes besides the hospital gown and I could see paying less than a very eary PM doll. But if a hospital doll is in new condition why limit your bid to $50-$70 for it?
This is why I usually won't mention when my dolls are hospital dolls. I will say used but like new and leave it at that.
The sad part is they do better if you say they are "used and played with" then if you say "fresh from the hospital with all new parts"
eBay doesn't make sense. Don't people bidding realize that half the played with dolls have been to the hospital at some point even if they don't say so?
What I think is a bit sad is when someone is selling a poor naked doll and then has another auction for her clothes..
I'd for sure buy a 'hospital' doll if I found one I wanted.

Call me obsessive but I couldn't break up my collection and sell it piece by piece. I don't like trying to buy an early PM doll and having to bid separately for her meet dress! It's really hard to date a doll when her original accessories don't come with her.

You would think it would be a positive thing because AG does not let flawed dolls leave the hospital. I paid for one to get a head replacement , and they replaced her arm because it had little bitemarks.(on thier dime) It didn't bother me, nor did I expect it fixed, but they wanted to make sure she left PERFECT. Talk about above and beyond!
We need to invent a classy term like "restored doll" instead of "hospital doll" to get rid of the stigma
